Born in historic Chatham (yes - I am indeed a Chav by birth) in the fashionably questionable 1970s I was fortunate to have two of the coolest parents possible. They ensured I had aspirations beyond working in MacDonald's, wearing sports casual (complete with 2 carat gold sovereign ring) and having 6 children by the time I was 12. Unfortunately this did mean I missed out on the council flat / sky satellite / pit bull package that many of my peers inherited. Having no choice but to fly the nest, I headed for the Big Smoke with the promise of untold wealth and readily available sex. Enjoying it so much - despite the disappointment at finding the streets paved with concrete - I decided to stay. I'd work on the untold wealth bit later...

My first Internet design experience was in 1995 when my boss dumped a huge book entitled 'learning HTML in 7 days' on my desk and said "Do us a website." Several years, several large books and several bosses later and I ended up doing it professionally. Lured away from the grey drudgery of a City job in London, I made my escape to sunny Spain by digging a tunnel with a plastic teaspoon - to work freelance. Unfortunately the lure and bright lights of London proved too strong and I returned after a year of hedonism with nothing to show but a killer tan and a few choice swear words in Spanish.

Over the years I discovered that there was a definite niche for a reasonably priced, flexible design service. Many design agencies had no interest in smaller jobs, and even other freelancers tended to over charge. So seeing an opportunity, I decided to fill it in my own inimitable way (modesty being one of my strong points). So I built up a client base of organisations wanting letterheads, business cards, t-shirts, carrier bags, brochures and websites - produced with a winning smile and without the unnecessary jargon.
